Advert Ranking System (ARS)
What is it?
The ARS has been developed in-house by Chamonix Networks to permit customers to fix an advert close to, or at the actual top of a page. The ARS is active on both chamonix.net and paragliding.net
Adverts using the ARS are placed above regular adverts that rotate on the page.
Affiliates may be allocated a position above adverts in the ARS. This is at the discretion of Chamonix Networks. Chamonix Networks does not guarantee to ARS users, the availability of the top position on any page .

How does it work?
Our Advert Ranking System contains many similarities with the Google Ad Rank system. If you are familiar with that, getting your head round the ARS, should not be too difficult.
Advert positions are valued on a click through rate (ctr). The higher the value (price) the higher the position on the page. An advert with a 20 cent ctr will display above an advert with a 15 cent ctr on the same page.
A credit of at least €50 is purchased by the customer, who then chooses the ctr and therefore, the position on the page.
As the advert is viewed, there is no deduction from the credit purchased, only when the advert's link is clicked through to the customers web site, will the value of the ctr be deducted from the credit.
How do I know my competitors don't just sit their clicking?
We log the IP address, date and time, to the second, of every single click through. All customers can see every detail of their log in the CxNx Extranet.
When a viewer clicks on an advert link, our database rapidly (we are talking milliseconds) searches the log for the same IP address. If someone with the same IP address has clicked on that link, within the last 24 hours, the viewer is passed through to the customer web site, but no value is deducted from the credit.
So your competitor can only deduct one credit value per day from an individual computer or network with the same IP.
Our customers benefit when people on different computers in the same office or home, click on the advert link, or the same genuine potential customer comes back more than once, inside 24 hours.... those click throughs are all free!
Can I control the pace at which my credit is used?
Yes. The CxNx Extranet ARS allows a customer to choose how much credit can be used. We are developing timeout parameters as well.
How do I know when my credit is up or position changes?
Within the CxNx Extranet, there is the option to receive e-mail notification of any change in position on the page. This happens when another advert reverts to general rotation or is added to the page.
When you advert is close to using all its credit, you are notified by e-mail and you set the 'close' parameters.
What happens when my credit runs out?
When credit runs out or the credit allocated to the advert runs out, the advert reverts to the general rotation. It is not deleted or de-activated and you receive e-mail notification of this event if you so choose.
